why haven’t i blogged lately?
it’s because i’ve been busy falling into a deep depression. it started when i returned from the Northern Territory and realised i can no longer really call myself a student, and it climaxed Saturday afternoon when i found myself sorting my CD collection into alphabetical order… i hate to say it but - i’m bored!

anyway, thanks to ‘XTC’ going cheap at JBs i now own a CD starting with every letter of the alphabet.

Organising CD's alphabetically is a never ending job so you should probably stop now. It is also verging on Obsessive-Compulsive disorder and indicates somebody who believes their life is lacking some CONTROL and is in need of ORDER. This could manifest itself into a complex personality disorder which could get more complex depending on how much money you've got.

That's what we reckon down at the Pub anyway.

I alphebetise books. It's a slog and quite difficult because unlike cds, books have an aesthetic need to look matched, and also be matched by genre. Because Jane Austen doesn't quite match Paul Auster. But the question that always stumps me is where I'm supposed to display my Sweet Valley High collection. It's difficult it is.

What about 'Y'?

yes, cool.

yes, going to the Northern Territory mixed with organising CD collection spells 'DOOM!!!!!' (particularly if you have idealistic vision a trip to the Northern Territory will change your life, and putting your CDs into order represents control over the changes in your life)

i've pretty much finished CDs now. my only issues are: is 'nick cave and the bad seeds' under 'n' or 'c'? do i put soundtracks under their titles, or put them with compilations at the end?

i agree Audrey, books should be size and colour coordinated.

Yothu Yindi, Pete Yorn, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Neil Young

Alphabetising is so passe.

There is a cool way, a new naughties hip way, do you want me to share?

Okay.

The Way of Arrangement (TWOA) is to organise messages for your chosen audience and arrange by artists in that order, ie,

E
M
O

S
T
O
P

M
A
S
T
E
R
B
A
T
I
N
G

I
N
T
O

A

B
O
T
T
L
E

F
O
R

A
R
T

if you've chosen your message correctly you should have no spares. This method also helps with CD Purchase Decision Making (CDPDM).

Hi Dot

Say your comment on Arnehm land and the Aborigines inviting the health minister to a Sit down, Abbot what an idiot?

Still if your bored, read a book, may I recommend the following

http://www.middlemiss.org/lit/australian/songlines.html

The book is called "songlines" by bruce Chatwin

"The Songlines emerge as invisible pathways connecting all over Australia: ancient tracks made of songs which tell of the creation of the land. The Aboriginals' religious duty is ritually to travel the land, singing the Ancestors' songs: singing the world into being afresh.

A great read

Regards
