Is this bed uninviting because it is pushed up against the wall?
According to Dot, this bed screams i sleep diagonally across, and that's not about to change.

Not uninviting, per se. But I'm not a fan of beds in corners. I KNOW it makes the room a lot more useable. But it feels wrong to me.
I like the doona and all that stuff though.
actually, i said that bed screams 'not expecting to have sleepovers ever'.
move it away from the wall and you'll get in the mindset of expecting some night-time company.
if you move it they will come...
It's the power point and cord lying across the bed - makes it look like a cancer node or something...
But I actualy like beds scrunched up next to the wall - makes for much giggling when you need to get in or out. And lots of inadvertant cuddling. Or is that just me?
i guess my reasoning is that having the bed up against the wall, there's a 50% less chance that some-one will fall out.

ps - cord is the vacuum! i'm a picture of domesticity today.
while climbing over people can be heaps of fun, its still better to be able to get to all 3 sides.
But then I prefer a bedhead too - gives one some *ehem* leverage. (rails make great non slip handholds, and good for tying things to)
So you must be in a chronic state of high spirits and happiness. No getting out of the wrong side of bed for you!

I think it's the pillows in the middle... looks like a one-person bed. I heard that if you put bedside tables on both sides its good feng shui or something - opens the bed up to having 2 people in it... but i'm no expert!!
Aussie Rock Chick, I've heard the same thing as well. If there is space so two people to get in and out of a bed (like space on each side) it'a meant to be better for attracting relationships.
I like the idea of two sets of pillows. It makes it a bit less "mine, all mine" and a bit more" you can have this side and still sleep comfortably".
Having said that, my bed is jammed into a corner. I tried to do the space on each side thing, but lets be reasonable. Really.

Have you had anyone come over for some nookie and they have run screaming because your bed was badly positioned? It is your bed and anyone over for rumpy pumpy will just have to lump it.
I always used to have my bed in a corner when single and seemed to have no problems attracting ineligible young men who wanted to stay over.
Damn, all this Feng Shui talk makes me realise why I'm firmly single! Stupid bed.
Don't worry about it. My bed is in the corner too... its a pain in the arse to make the bed though (although mine is big and pine and heavy, so that probably doesn't help). If I had more room, it'd have space on both sides... but it's just not an option!
I think it makes it look more roomy coz you can spread all the way out without falling.
Also, if you have company of the sexual persuasion you can sit, lean or prop up against the wall!
